Already Crushing 2021!

We have kicked off the year full speed. Can you tell? I am only just now getting to a blog post for this year! So many new things happening at once and we have recruited several new people to our team. We would like to welcome Anita O'Daniel as our official Grant Writer. This is huge for us as grant awards can take us a step further in our mission!

Next on our list is our newest division of Anthem called Hurricane Canines!

We have been given the exciting opportunity to establish a campus program that will be open to student involvement at the university of Tulsa for areas like nonprofit management, accessibility awareness, and service dog puppy raisers. Adding sectors like this is just what Tulsa needs. It creates more opportunities where change is lacking while we grow the best service dog organization Tulsa has ever seen.

As we roll into spring we would like to thank our friend Jeremy Bautista at Ferguson Subaru for donating a portion of each car sale from the past two months to our organization! We will be visiting this week to shower him with thanks!

Taco will be our next graduate for this month! He has been paired with Aubree T. of Edmond, OK. He and Aubree hit it off the moment they met and they have been working hard to learn each other's needs and work together as a service dog team.

She was rear-ended at a stop sign by a driver at a highway speed which has changed her life in the most dramatic ways. She has given us such an eye-opening experience into the life and shoes of a person suffering from a spinal cord injury. Taco is filling a void for her that has made her excited to reach for more independence. We are so proud of our sweet boy, Aubree, and all of their accomplishments.

Taco came from Lab Rescue of Oklahoma as a stray that had been detained in Tulsa Animal Welfare for about 30 days before his freedom ride out. He has had that special spark from the moment we met him and we are so excited to give him the chance to live a life full of fun, unlimited love, and work that includes some of his favorite past times like searching out phones and lost items, and anything he can put his mouth on. He's the best boy and he has reached his full potential with us! Aubree and her family are as sweet and loving as they come and we feel its a match made in heaven.
